Subjects covered include threat and risk assessment, legislation relevant to the role,
walking drills, embus and debus, incident management, surveillance, and operational planning.

How long will it take me to achieve this qualification?
Our next course runs for 14 consecutive days from Monday to Sunday. Each training day is long.

Start times are from 9 am to finish time 10 pm (on some occasions) with some class hours homework included.

How is the qualification assessed?

Each unit has specified learning outcomes and assessment criteria Students must meet all the unit’s learning outcomes to pass internally assessed units. The qualification is divided into 3-units and is assessed by the following methods:

• Unit 1: Working as a Close Protection Operative
  Externally set and internally assessed open-response questions and internally set
  and internally assessed practical tasks.
• Unit 2: Planning, Preparing, and Supporting a Close Protection Operation
  Externally set and internally assessed open-response questions and internally set
  and internally assessed practical tasks.
• Unit 3: Conflict Management within the Private Security Industry
  

Our close protection instructors are qualified to teach and have an extensive amount of experience in the close protection industry both operating in a high-threat environment and executive protection.
